Community Walk
You may remember that in 2022 we held a series of events to remember Libby Notley. Libby was one of our village’s stalwarts, who was so often found at the heart of occasions that brought us all together. Libby died so unexpectedly in May 2021, and our events that following year were a way to celebrate her life and love for Underriver, our community here, whilst also raising money for good causes.
May 2026 marks the fifth anniversary of Libby’s passing. In these years that followed Libby’s passing, a number of others from our community, much loved, have also left us. We thought 2026 would be an opportunity to get together again, in the spirit of community and friendship, to share time together and raise money for local charities.
To this end, we are organising a morning walk around the village on the morning of Saturday 16th May, starting and finishing with refreshments at the Village Hall. The walk will allow for different levels of energy or enthusiasm, hoping also to give people to see parts of the village that are normally closed to most of us.
If any of you would like to get involved, or to volunteer support, with catering, marshalling, garden access or anything else you may want to offer, please let either myself or Kay Lambert know at underriver.events@gmail.com
We do hope you can join us to support the event and all it stands for. Further details to follow soon.
Best wishes
Phil, Matt, Becca and Kat Payne
